Following a major Dominican Republic media tour, the New York-based artist prepares the global premiere of “VAKERA,” filmed in his hometown of Bonao.

The international push follows a major milestone for the record: “VAKERA” was officially licensed by the NFL for Super Bowl LX, placing LOKIXXIMO's music in connection with one of the world's largest sports and entertainment events.

Born in Bonao, Dominican Republic, and based in New York City, LOKIXXIMO returned to his home country to promote his album Hijo de Nena, reconnect with his roots and introduce audiences to the next chapter of a career spanning more than two decades in Latin urban music.

A centerpiece of this new chapter is “VAKERA,” a single from Hijo de Nena. Originally released in 2023, the record reached a new career milestone in 2026 when it was licensed by the NFL for Super Bowl LX.

Building on that momentum, LOKIXXIMO returned to Bonao to film the official “VAKERA” music video, placing his hometown and Dominican identity at the center of its visual story.

The production incorporated local locations and collaborators, including filming at Brisa del Cibao, with 3NDINRD documenting portions of the production.

“For me, it was important that VAKERA carried a piece of Bonao with it. I didn't want to simply return home to promote my music. I wanted to create something there and take that energy to the world,” LOKIXXIMO said.

The concept behind “VAKERA” celebrates confidence, courage, character, sensuality and determination. It represents a woman who understands her value, embraces her strength and refuses to allow others to define her limits.

With more than 20 years in Latin urban music, LOKIXXIMO has built a career connecting his Caribbean identity with the multicultural influence of New York City.
